Dr Armour is a specialist dermatologist, and graduated from the University of Otago in 1998. She undertook her specialist training in Dermatology in Melbourne, Australia and at St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London as a trainee of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She became a Fellow of the Australasian College in 2008. Dr Armour worked for three years as a Dermatologist in Melbourne, Australia. She had public hospital appointments at the Alfred Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, and the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria, as well as enjoying a busy private practice. She is a recognised expert in the use of biologic therapies for severe skin conditions, and is involved in clinical trials for these agents. Dr Amour is a reviewer for the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and has published numerous papers herself.

Dr Armour returned to New Zealand in late 2012, and has worked as a Consultant Dermatologist at Christchurch Public Hospital. Dr Armours interests in dermatology are broad and include medical dermatology (including paediatric dermatology, acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea), skin cancer management, skin surgery and cosmetic dermatology.
